FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:


You must arrive 15-20 mins prior to your scheduled tour departing. Failure to arrive on time may mean that you miss your group.  Please ensure you refer to the Terms & Conditions upon booking.

If you are late for your tour, we cannot guarantee that there will be availability on the next tour. Therefore it is important that you arrive 15-20 mins prior to your scheduled depature time so that you do not miss your tour.

Where is the Zip Line Tour located?

Otway Fly Treetop Adventures is located on the Otway Fly Treetop Adventures site, 360 Phillips Track, Weeaproinah VIC 3237.

How long is the Zip Line Tour?

The Zip Line Tour will take approximately 3.5 hours. This time is from the time of check in to your return to the Visitor Centre after completing the tour and the treetop walk.

What does the training include?

Your training session will include the fitting of your harness and safety equipment as well as information on the tour.  After you’ve completed the training session, we will proceed to the Zip Line Simulator where all participants will get to have a ride on the simulator before proceeding to the Zip Line Tour.

What times do the tours run?

Daily and for most of the year the first tour gets underway at 9am with the last tour going out at 2pm. Tours commence every hour on the hour.

How and do I need to make a booking?

Absolutely! Bookings are essential. Call us to make a booking 1800 300 477

Do I need to arrive before my booking time?

Yes! You are required to arrive and check in 15-20 minutesbefore your tour booking time. Remember that items like proof of age for children and seniors will be required at check in. We may not be able to guarantee depature on the same day.

What do I get for my money?

You’ll receive full safety and instruction briefing on the relevant equipment that you will be issued with and the tour. You’ll get a 2.5 hour Zip Line experience. This includes your instruction and walks to the start of the Zip Line Tour as well as flight time between nine cloud stations. Your guide/s will provide you with interpretation on our forest, the creatures that live in it and history of our unique attraction as well as history of the Otways region. You also get entry to the Otway Fly Treetop Walk…the longest and tallest steel structured treetop canopy walkway of its type in the world!

How can I pay?

We accept Visa and Mastercard credit card payments via the internet and Visa/Mastercard, Eftpos and cash are accepted for purchases made at the Visitor Centre.

Refund policy?

Your booking is non-refundable and is for a specific time and date. Changes to the date and/or time of your reservation will only be considered if a request is received seven days before the confirmed tour date. Changes of date or time of your booked tour will only be made if there is availability of that time or date.

How many people are on the Zip Line Tour?

There are 10 spots ( max) per tour available.

What do I wear?

You are required to wear fully enclosed and comfortable sporting or hiking shoes. During winter you must wear warm clothing and bring wet weather protective outer wear. Loose objects, jewellery, wrist watches, hats, etc. cannot be worn or taken onto the tour. This includes large cameras, bags, video recorders, mobile phones or iPods. Bear in mind that even over the summer months it may be cool up in the tree canopy as you travel from tree to tree. Make sure that you are prepared.

Can I wear jewellery and where do I leave my valuables whilst out on the Zip Line Tour?

Our safety requirements are that all jewellery that can be removed must be removed. We will not take responsibility for any jewellery lost on tour and don’t want to take chances on entanglement. We will provide you with a secure locker for your belongings. Please note that the lockers are only big enough to hold a small backpack.

Will inclement weather affect my Zip Line Tour booking?

Otway Fly Zip Line Tour operates in all weather conditions. Tour operations will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions such as lightning storms, government declared Code Red bushfire weather warning days and high winds. Tours will be postponed at our discretion. We will offer an alternative tour date and time in consultation and agreement with you.

Can I wear my glasses or sunglasses on the adventure?

Yes you certainly can. We’ll supply you with a suitable lanyard to make sure you don’t lose your glasses or sunglasses whilst on tour.

Can I bring my camera on the adventure?

Some compact cameras are permitted on the Tour at the discretion of the Guide. Please check with your guide prior to your Tour.

Can children participate?

Yes. Children must be over the age of 4 years a minimum height of 105cm. We will require proof of age, such as a passport, birth certificate or school identification card for all children when checking in for the tour.

Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.  Children aged between 10-13 can zip line with a sibling who is over 13 years of age.  In all cases parents must attend the safety briefing.

Do I need to be in great physical condition?

No fitness level is necessarily required for the Zip Line Tour. We do recommend that you are comfortable with the thought of being at height and take the following into account:You need to have been cleared to participate in moderate physical activity for the duration of approx 3 hours. – If you have restricted mobility or a medical condition about which you are concerned please give us a call to discuss your requirements prior to the tour and we will be happy to help.

What’s the minimum age?

The minimum age for the Otway Fly Zip Line Tour is 4 years (minimum height of 105 cm )

Is there a maximum weight?

Maximum weight for the Otway Fly Zip Line Tour is 120 kgs. 120kgs is also the maximum weight for tandem flights.

What is the minimum Height?

To particpate on the tour you must be taller than 105cm.

What if I am afraid of heights?

It’s our opinion that a combination of you wanting to conquer your fear of heights and with the guidance of our experienced staff that you will enjoy every minute of your Zip Line Tour!  If there is a situation where an individual is unable to complete the tour, we have systems in place for that person with our assistance to end their tour and get them back to the Visitor Centre.

Are seniors or persons affected by conditions able to participate?

Absolutely! We welcome all individuals. No fitness level is necessarily required for the Zip Line Tour. We do recommend that you are comfortable with the thought of being at height and take the following into account:You need to have been cleared to participate in moderate physical activity for the duration of approx 3 hours.

Individuals who may suffer from any of the following ailments will need to make their decision prior making a booking based on advice from their doctor:

- heart condition;
- visual impairment (except those wearing prescription eyewear);
- hearing impairment;
- vertigo, fear of heights, dizziness;
- pregnancy;
- respiratory;
- missing limbs.

If you have restricted mobility or a medical condition about which you are concerned please give us a call to discuss your requirements prior to the tour and we will be happy to help.

Otway Fly Treetop Adventures reserves the right to decline your participation in the tour, if we believe you could put yourself or others into a compromised situation as a result of any illnesses or ailments. Required medication may be taken on tour.After completion of the Zip Line Tour and Treetop Walk there is a shuttle service available to bring you back to the Visitor Centre.

Am I required to sign a waiver or release?

Yes, all participants are required to sign a release form before commencement of the tour.
